All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors must have a minimum of six periods scheduled during the seven period day. Sometimes, it is difficult to know much about a class when signing up. Therefore, students have the first three days of the semester to drop and add classes. After that time, and if a student has all seven periods scheduled, the student may elect to drop one class with permission of the teacher, counselor, principal, and a parent or guardian. This must be done within the first nine weeks of the semester. After that, the student will remain enrolled in the class for the entire semester and the class will be included on the student’s transcript. No classes can be added after the three day drop and add period. The same guidelines apply to seniors with the exception that they must be scheduled for a minimum of 20 credits. |
|
During the fifth week of the first, second, and third quarter, parents shall be mailed a report on the student’s progress. Parents, guardians, and students are also encouraged to check progress on PowerSchool. |
|
All students will have a semester assessments. Two days will be scheduled at the end of each semester for these assessments. Assessments will be comprehensive in nature and will count five percent (5%) to twenty percent (20%) of the final semester grade. Any student may request to be exempt from taking up to two semester exams if he/she meets the following criteria:
The classroom instructor or principal has the option to not grant the request for any reasonable reason. |

The National Honor Society chapter is a duly chartered and affiliated chapter of the national organization. Membership is open to those juniors and seniors who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Standards for selection are established by the nation office of NHS and have been revised to meet our local chapter needs. After first meeting the scholarship criteria, students are invited to complete an application for consideration for membership. A five-member faculty council reviews the application and discusses each student’s standing in the areas of leadership, service, and character. Student members failing to continue to meet the criteria for membership will be removed from membership. Questions regarding membership in NHS should be directed to the chapter advisor. |

Guidance services are available for every student. These services include assistance with educational planning; interpretation of test scores; occupational information; study helps; help with home, school and/or social concerns; or questions the student may feel they would like to discuss with the counselor. Students wishing to visit a counselor should contact the guidance office to arrange for an appointment. |

The study hall supervisor will give each student the expectations of study hall procedures. It is a place for quiet study. If students wish to leave their study hall, the student will have a pass in advance signed by another staff member in order for the student to leave study hall. All students are to check back in to the study hall prior to the end of the class period. |
