COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed for those students who plan to become a good parent as well as for those who plan to work with children. The focus of the class will include the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth and development of children as infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. There will be a preschool experience and homework on a regular basis.

Strong families are important to individuals and to society. In this course, students will learn about families and how to apply this knowledge to their own lives. Units will include understanding family as a foundation, examining roles and relationships, supporting family through challenges, and building a marriage and family. This course is designed for those students who plan to become a good parent as well as for those who plan to work with children. The focus of the class will include parenting readiness, pregnancy and prenatal care, birth process, and physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth and development of newborns. There will be an experience with a baby model, and homework on a regular basis.
